Marion Wolfe
Convinced by her omnipresent mother (who is a senator) to become a journalist, Marion renounced to her desire to do research on alien civilizations.
During a risky journalistic operation, she made a mistake which led to the death of a man of her escort. Having first provided the escort for the expedition, the senator Wolfe (?Clare Fitzgerald?) successfully protected her daughter from the jail. But Cutter Slade, who was responsible for the expedition, was charged with the whole responsibility.
Afflicted by this sad affair, Marion broke communications with her mother and came back to bio-ethnology, and became a famous specialist.
