Kalaba are considered noble animals on the planet Adelpha.

They are winged bipeds with a wingspan reaching up to five meters. Their muscular feet end in sharp hooked talons ensuring a firm grip on the steepest rocks.

In its natural state, the Kalaba is a wild animal but very easy to domesticate. Kalaba are particularly useful to the inhabitants of Adelpha: it is possible to harness and ride them for surveillance missions.

Basically herbivorous, Kalaba sometimes eat small rodents when they are starving. They possess keen eyesight and a fairly well developed sense of smell. Their flexible trunk is capable of identifying smells several hundred meters away. It is also used to absorb water which they consume in large quantities.
